Safe and Sound Program (Sound Therapy)
Guided listening support for safety, regulation, and connection.
Service Description
The Safe and Sound Protocolâ„¢ (SSP) is a provider-guided listening therapy designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, and social engagement. Rooted in Polyvagal Theory and developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, SSP uses specially filtered music to help the nervous system shift from patterns of defense toward greater feelings of safety, calm, and connection. At Sunshine Mind and Body, Inc., SSP may be used as a supportive wellness tool within a broader, trauma-informed plan to help clients strengthen regulation, improve readiness for deeper healing work, and build more capacity for rest, connection, and resilience. SSP is intended to complement, not replace, medical or mental health care when needed.
